coming home to you [event/closed]
[It seems quieter for some reason. The entire city just feels… off. And she understands why, of course. When you don’t remember anything big from the several months or even full year you’ve been around, it’s different. That’s why she’s wandering the streets. Not aimlessly, despite what it looks like. There’s something about this path that draws her along, as if she’s walked it many times before. As if following it will bring her to some kind of revelation.
That’s how Nepeta ends up underground, in the districts. Sector Six, to be precise.
It’s warm and the scent of flora is thick, reassuring her. She recognizes every line, curve and ditch and a little voice in the back of her mind tells her that she should know why she’s here, why this place feels so important to her.
One of the little huts jumps out more than the others for some reason.
She can’t pinpoint why, exactly, it just does. The cracks in the door are familiar, and briefly, the vague sensation of snow invades her senses.
A split moment she wonders if she should knock, but then again, the troll has never been shy. That’s why she raps her knuckles against the wood and waits for a response, absent-mindedly toying with the necklace she has no recollection of hanging around her neck.]
aight time for some event notes for my own sanity
- nepeta doesn’t remember anything that happened. how she got her weapons back is a mystery to her
- she’ll recognize faces but not names
- the closer you are to her, the harder it will be for her to remember you
- she’ll recognize objects too, depending on who gave it to her
- the only person she actually remembers and thus the events that transpired between her, them and other people, is terezi. that’s not to say that she’ll remember the other people involved though
[It was a difficult time, yes, but there was no reason to throw away celebrating something like this, right? He hadn’t even gotten a chance to show her what he got in the first place, so he was a bit surprised when she got to him first.
After taking it in one hand, Abel holds the box and flower to his chest, face flushing a deep red as the meaning hits. Would he expect any less, though…? From her, anyway. With a stiffled cough, he tentatively tugs a box from behind his back, holding it out. It’s nothing extravagant, but he hopes the necklace inside, with it’s curled design of a heart, will be good enough.]
H-Happy Valentines Day, Nepeta!
[You cant help but giggle at his response. God he’s so cute. You have the cutest boyfriend, goodbye. But now it’s your turn to be surprised as you open the box and see what’s inside. It’s perfect. And your entire face lights up with a smile, eyes sparkling brightly as you embrace him. Not the usual bear hug you tend to assault Abel with; a gentle, loving hug. For the first time he’s left you speechless. But that’s when the gravity of the situation really sets in, and olive tears gather at the corners of your eyes.]
:33 < …i love it
:33 < i really do
[Your hands curl in the fabric of his clothes as you press closer to him, face contorted with a kind of sadness you haven’t felt in a long time. You can’t even bring yourself to care about the fact that you’re crying in front of him. You just wish with all your heart that he will stay.]
:33 < i love you
"Did you forget we’re in the same boat? I’m staying, too."
[You perk up. He’s staying? He’s staying!]
:33 < i… yeah, i guess we are
:33 < i just- im happy i wont have to say goodbye to you
[Because you couldn’t have. Not now, not ever. Instantly, you pounce on him, and wrap your arms around your moirail’s form. Your fear of being left behind has been stilled, for now.]
"Peta-chan… You’re not one of the ones leaving tomorrow, are you?"
:33 < where would i go?
:33 < back to being dead??
:33 < this… this is my home. im staying here
:33 < …what about you?
[ INTRO ] - dead or not dead
— The world cascades and dissolves right before the mismatching eyes of Gundam Tanaka, but that isn’t what raises those pseudo-eyebrows of his.
For the first time in his life, the dark magician of erudite prowess is hit with a bad case of Alexithymia. While the celestine color of the skies above screams, "YOU’RE ALIVE!" all mediocre, as if he’d won some elementary school lottery, the coppery taste that stings his tongue shouts, "YOU’RE DEAD!" and he sure does feel like it. Our advocate can still feel wildebeast hoof on his back and he just cannot comprehend how living he truly is.
Didn’t those winged fauna of the high heavens lift him into the clouds? This couldn’t be any sort of Olympus, with its filth of smoky nostrils and lack of ambrosia in what is filled with fast food stands. Could a “hotdog” be considered a divinity in any religion? Tanaka pulls a face in disgust, which earns him several not-so-pleasant looks back.
That wretched man— scientifically inclined, judging by his getup and self-proclamation— he’d called him a lab rat, he recalls, and his disgust morphs into a thicker and more intense level of hatred, scowling all ugly and unfitting for this so-called Heaven. Lab rat! To make a variable out of Gundam Tanaka himself! The mage would smite such idiotic bravado on the spot if he had knowledge of where that imbecile was… Which he did, of course. Being a omnipotent. And omniscient. Ah, he swears on the Four Dark Gods—!
The Four Apocalyptic Bringers! O, were they present? Delving immediately into his muffler, he procures the Hellish beings. This retrieval is followed by the obligatory kiss on the forehead, and then the optional cheek nuzzle. It is ancient ritual.
Still, he is unfamiliar with his surroundings despite being, as previously stated, omniscient. His third eye and sixth sense and seventh limb have all been clouded by some mysterious Great Force! Whoever interferes with the Dark Lord will pay… after he is finished with necessary business and inquiries.
"Good day!" he greets to the nearest passerby, not daring to even tap them on the shoulder in fear of contaminating them with his evil touch. "Fear, for you are in the presence of the Great Gundam Tanaka! Now, mortal, do you have knowledge of where you and I are? If you answer wrong, I will not hesitate to wipe you from all media of existence!" This is the proper way to ask questions.
[All you’d wanted to do was get food. You hadn’t expected to run into old acquaintances today, least of all one Gundam Tanaka in particular. You were just making your way home from the sector four market, a dead pig under your arm, when your eyes fall on him and you stop dead in your tracks. No, no no no. No this is a joke isn’t it?
Oh, but he smells the same, sounds the same, and you cannot help but feel bitter. He won’t know you, of course. You’ve experienced first hand that not everyone retains their memories, let alone might be from the same timeline. It doesn’t change the fact that you would like to wipe that smug look off his face, though. But when he actually greets you, your dinner slips from your grip, and your hands reach up, grab his muffler, and pull him in.]
:33 < …
[No, it is definitely Gundam. The fabric of his scarf is the exact same as the one you’re wearing. It had belonged to him once after all. You don’t break eye contact as you let go about five seconds later.]
:33 < this is sector four and coincidentally im already dead so dont bother
:33 < the names nepeta by the way
[Finally, you look away as you inquiringly search for his hamsters. You’d missed them. And him, but you’ll never admit that.]
:33 < okay so i have presents fur abel, terezi and ibuki but what do i get light????
:33 < he got me something really cute i want to make him just as happy with his present!!
